Podcast: How and Why to Become a Speaker

This is a podcast version of my rant-in-the-bar advice to anyone thinking about speaking, or wondering how to begin. Personally I think many more people could be sharing their expertise at events than actually do so, and I would really like anyone who wants to get involved to have a starting point. So if that's you, and you have a spare ten minutes to listen to my thoughts on the subject, then the mp3 is here.

  1. Awesome podcast. Thanks for sharing. I've been considering submitting a talk for Zendcon, and have almost chickened out a couple of times. After listening, I'm off to work on three or four abstracts. Thanks for the kick in the butt.

  2. Great points Lorna. I just gave my first presentation to a user group just last week and can confirm a measure of terror before I did it.

    Now, I'm too busy thinking what I can do to improve it for next time, and wondering what else I could do as well.
